About the Role

This is a newly created, head of department role. You will report into the CEO and partner with the functional teams, while working closely with the key leaders in the business. Your will focus will be a group approach across the Outdoor, Bike & Trade divisions of the business and will be responsible for developing, executing and optimising all e-Commerce & digital marketing activity including the driving strategy, building campaigns and projects to acquire, engage and convert leads into sales opportunities across the brand portfolio.

You will be a hands-on digital marketing & eCommerce leader and drive results through your passion and expertise.

Your Remit: (this includes the stewardship of all divisions and sites)

  • Drive & be accountable for the growth: Set the strategies with the divisions; Own the online P&L across the divisions; drive revenue, AOV, conversion and repeat customer rate; Responsibility for forecasting costs (ad spend, fulfilment, tools) against expected sales revenue
  • Run the engines: Oversee Shopify performance, UX, site speed, product merchandising and on-site content
  • Execute the plans: Work with the external agencies to build and run campaigns across Meta, Google, and SEO
  • Elevate the CX: Work with the implementation of Salesforce and creation of a loyalty program; Plan and execute end-to-end e-commerce product launches; Manage product listings, categories, pricing, promotions, and stock availability
  • Decide with data: Have a clear understanding of tracking performance in a series of markers (eg.GA4, etc) and be able to make decisions based on facts; Work with Paid Media and Email teams to ensure performance marketing and lifecycle campaigns support e-commerce revenue targets
  • Lead the teams internally & externally:  Build, lead, and develop a high-performing cross-functional eCommerce team; Work with Paid Media and Email teams to ensure performance marketing and lifecycle campaigns support e-commerce revenue targets
  • Be the voice to the business: Have experience presenting and building reporting for the Board of Directors & business; Maintain dashboards for key metrics such as sales, subscriptions, loyalty participation, email performance (open/click rates, revenue per send), AOV, CAC, MER, and LTV

About you:

You have either developed the digital marketing strategy across brands in the past or been a significant contributor in this and have a desire to take the next step. You will have ideally done this within wholesale and/or consumer driven retail markets. You are not only skilled at developing strategy but also willing to roll your sleeves up and execute. You are driven by results and enjoy working cross functionally.

You will also have experience across the following:

  • Developing, refining and delivering marketing strategies for high-growth businesses and creatively translating the strategies into compelling marketing programs and campaigns
  • Up to date and evolving knowledge across the digital marketing landscape and extensive hands-on experience across media channels and marketing technology platforms.
  • Data-driven approach to solving marketing challenges and strong analytical skills to translate both qualitative and quantitative data into opportunities for action
  • Proven ability to naturally collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop marketing campaign assets and produce engaging content for marketing campaigns
  • Deep understanding of web analytics and expertise in email marketing, performance marketing (SEM, social media, sponsored among others) and digital lifecycle marketing
  • Experience designing A/B tests and optimising emails, ads and landing pages to meet demand generation objectives
  • Extensive experience using marketing tech platforms – Google Analytics among others
